Lead N Lope Futurities Stallion Service Auction Rules
All agreements are made between the mare and stallion owner. The Lead N Lope Futurities acts as an agent only.
Stallion Owners:
Stallions may be donated until the day of the auction. Stallions donated after the sale catalog is published will be listed on an addendum sheet the day of the auction.
Each Stallion owner is eligible to donate four stallions.
Stallion owner has the option of right to buy the service at whatever the starting bid was the day of the auction. After that day the fee will be ˝ the normal stud fee and can be bought until April 1. If the stallion owner buys his breeding back and the check is insufficient, then no foal is eligible to show.
If the stallion service fee is not sold, the stallion owner WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE to show any foal in the Breeder’s Futurity.
Stallion service must sell to allow the stallion owner the privilege of participation in this futurity-subject to the
same rules and conditions as the service purchasers. Stallion owner is allowed to show one weanling from that
stallion.
The Futurity Committee has the right to refuse a donated stallion service if it feels it is not in the best interest of the futurity, i.e. – suspension with a Breed Association, etc.
Only registered stallions will be permitted. Stallions allowed to outcross with other registries will be listed accordingly.
All contracts and requirement must be listed in the catalog information i.e.; breeding contract, chute fee, etc.
Stallion owner has the right to bid on his/her own stallion.
Mare Owners:
Any mare board/care will be paid to the stallion owner by the mare owner at listed fee in catalog.
If nominated mare is sold and was bred to a stallion purchased at the auction, the resulting foal is eligible for the Breeder’s Futurity. Notification of this sale must be submitted in writing, signed by both parties concerned, to Lead N Lope Futurities.
Should the nominated mare not produce a live, viable, normal foal (veterinary verification in writing required)the first year of service, the nominated mare will be given a return service the second year, but the second year will be the end of the contract. There will not be a third year of rebreeding and no money will be refunded. Exception: In case of death of the original nominated mare, or should she prove to be unbreedable, a substitute mare will be accepted with written veterinarian statement of cause and notification to Lead N Lope Futurities prior to rebreeding of substitute mare. The stallion service fee from the auction will remain with the year purchased, but the foal will be moved to it’s year of eligibility.
In the event of the death of a stallion or should he become unserviceable, or should the stallion owner, manager or lessee refuse to honor the contract for any reason, notify the Committee. These issues will be dealt with on a case by case basis upon written notification to the Lead N Lope Futurities.
Mares must be registered.
Payment of Fees:
Payment of breeding purchased through the auction will be: Day of auction – payment in full if you wish, but you must pay at least 50% down and leave a check for the balance –this second check will be deposited May 1.
Mail-in bids must be paid in full at the time the bid is submitted. Bids will be accepted until two (2) days prior to auction. Mail bids to the Futurity Chairman. You will be notified by mail whether your bid was successful, and if not, your check will be returned to you. Lead N Lope Futurities is not responsible for lost or misdirected checks.
Starting bid will be $150 on all services donated – private treaty also.
Anyone buying a stallion service may sell it, if desired, and the resulting foal is still eligible for the Breeder’s Futurity. Notification of this sale must be submitted in writing, signed by both parties concerned, to the Lead N Lope Futurities, before the mare is bred.
Any service not sold at the auction can be sold by the committee to a qualified buyer at ˝ the normal fee until April 1. Private treaty will be $300.
Make checks payable to Lead N Lope Futurities. All checks returned for insufficient funds, etc. will result in the stallion service purchasers’ forfeit of privileges. Should the purchaser default on payment, the intent of the sale is there and is considered a sold service; therefore, the stallion owner is eligible to show a foal in the Breeder’s Futurity. A 10% fee will be imposed per 30 days on all insufficient checks-then it will be a cash only basis.
Phone bids accepted with arrangements made prior to sale. Purchaser’s maximum amount must be determined prior in case of no service/cell phone.
